On September 14, the “China-Denmark Sustainable Packaging Industry Chain Seminar” was successfully held at the Peace Hotel in Shanghai. With the support of the Danish Ministry of Environment, this event was co-hosted by the China Packaging Federation, the Consulate General of Denmark in Shanghai, and Innovation Centre Denmark.

Han Xueshan, Vice President and Executive Secretary-General of the China Packaging Federation, met with Mr. Thomas Østrup Møller, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Denmark to China, at the Peace Hotel. Accompanying Danish representatives included Ms. Dung Nguyen, Consul General of the Kingdom of Denmark in Shanghai, and Mr. Martin Rune Hoxer, Executive Director of Innovation Centre Denmark. Ms. Xu Linyihui, Chief Executive Officer of Techsun, was invited to join the meeting as one of the outstanding Chinese private entrepreneur representatives.

During the meeting, the two sides engaged in extensive exchanges and discussions on environmental solutions in the packaging sector, covering topics such as outer packaging, excessive packaging, packaging waste management and governance, and green packaging for express delivery.

Subsequently, both Chinese and Danish participants jointly took part in the sustainable packaging industry chain seminar, held in the form of a roundtable. The seminar was designed to hear the views and insights of enterprises from different countries regarding the sustainable packaging industry chain.

During the seminar, Ms. Xu Linyihui expressed that the driving force of leading enterprises in the industry chain is meaningful for the healthy and closed-loop development of the industry. At the same time, incentive policies provided by the government will accelerate the process of sustainable development. Additionally, as a representative of private enterprises, Ms. Xu showed keen interest in the question of how Denmark uses technology to empower businesses, enabling small and medium-sized enterprises to achieve the same production capacity as large enterprises.

At the roundtable, Chinese and Danish representatives offered unique insights one after another, presenting in-depth perspectives on the “changes and constants” in the industry’s development over the next three to five years, delivering a rich feast of ideas to the attending enterprises.
